So, the big question is how much difference does a caddie make for a tour player? Steve Williams was a caddie initially for Ray Floyd who won several majors, and then Greg Norman who was #1 for more than a handful of years, and won two majors.

What is the best golf tip you have ever received? In my line of work I have been blessed to speak to and sometimes play with some really great golf professionals. Some brand name pros. Some not so well known. Doesn’t seem to make much of a difference.

Well, he did it to us again. This weekend Phil Mickelson came close to a major victory at this years British Open. Took us up the roller coaster and right back down again! The first 10 holes were amazing as he went 6 under par, and was tied for the lead. But over the next 7 holes, he went 4 over par, and his chances were sunk. I just love Phil, and like many, it’s likely because he often performs at levels as great as anyone in the history of the game. However he also does things that look like an average player on the weekend…By the way, he missed at least 7 putts inside three feet this week!

As a parent I am sure you are probably a lot like me. Concerned at how much media our kids are taking in on a daily basis. Recently I was at a PGA show were they were advocating convincing teens to get away from technology. Seems like that is going to be a tough battle. We at Scratch think a bit differently. To embrace technology for something productive. Our simulators give us a unique way of introducing the game of golf to kids. Feel free to come in and see for yourself.

Was it a marathon or some sort of USGA inquisition? After the men experienced a walk in the park US Open just a few weeks ago, the women got something entirely different. They got what a US Open is meant to be. Difficult conditions, difficult weather, difficult weather, difficult weather. Did I say difficult weather?

So not sure if you were watching last year when the LPGA shanked one in the trees. They took one of the most popular and gifted players (Lexi Thompson) in their game, and denied her membership.

It’s our version of graduation. We reward each person with a certificate of accomplishment and some are able to move up to other “hat” levels. See our wall of hats.

Who is going to win this weeks LPGA Championship? Do you care? You should. Unlike the guys on the PGA Tour, our American ladies are keeping up on their end of the majors. The US women have now won 3 of the last 4 majors. Seems like we were just complaining about them last year? Who’s your pick to win this week? Here are mine.

So golf finally decides to go social with it’s first legitimate viral submission. You may find it dumb. Good, it’s supposed to be. PGA Tour member Ben Crane decided to get all his long haired cohorts to join him in his video. Good for him. Golf needs so much more of this. Looks like the future of golf might be in good hands after all.
