Standard Training
- Adults come one to three times a week for a 75 minute training session. The program is limited to four students per instructor.
- Scratch uses a four station training system: putting, short game, swing and fitness. At each training session, you work in two of the stations. Therefore, every aspect of the game of golf is taught and trained.
- The training is a drill based, practice system – it is not “fix it” lesson. Drills are learned in each area, then practiced and learned – just every other major sport. At the end of each session, many shots are hit to build a database of information.
- Scratch also videos your swing and those swings are also placed into your personal profile on the Scratch Skills Handicap System. Read more about SSHS.
- The training and instruction curriculum was built by Scratch in conjunction with Rick Smith. Rick was recently voted the #2 instructor by the players on the PGA Tour. Click to learn more about Rick’s background.
Ladies’ Programs
- Scratch recognizes that the Ladies might prefer to have their own group train together, etc., and thus set aside a variety of training times during the week that are “Ladies Only.”
- In addition to the “Standard Training”, Scratch offers several “Ladies Beginners” sessions each week. Though this training is tailored along with our standard curriculum, it is adjusted to meet the needs of ladies who desire to start playing the game. Scratch can provide clubs as well.
Lunchtime
- Can’t get out and practice during the week, but want to be ready for your weekend game? Then this just might be the perfect program for you.
- Several times are set aside each day for 45 minute “Lunchtime” sessions. “Standard Training” is included with this program but in an abbreviated format.
- It can also be used to practice what you worked on at the previous session.
Open
- Scratch knows that many golfers just want to squeeze in a little practice time, and thus several times each week are set aside as Open.
- These sessions are generally one hour, and time can be spent working on putting, short game and/or swing.
- Courses can also be played during the Open times (ie. Pebble Beach).
